This Woman Turned An Old Commuter Bus Into Her Dream Home
Tiny houses are currently completely hip and Jessie Lipskin from New York was ready to give her life a twist. When she did not manage to find a camper that suited her style, she turned to eBay and bought a vintage GMC bus from 1966 to make this a mobile apartment for herself. She left her apartment in the big city and started her dream of living on the road.
A Vision for a GMC bus from 1966
The construction team started demolishing the complete interior of the bus, including the ceiling, seats and rods. When everything was out of the way, the contractors started building her new apartment. Jessie saw her dream come true, but this was only the beginning of a three-year, difficult undertaking.
Stripping the bus
The construction team started demolishing the entire interior of the bus, including the ceiling, seats and the rods. When everything was out of the way, the contractors started building her new apartment. Jessie saw her dream come true, but this was only the beginning of a three-year, difficult undertaking.
Building a dream
After three years and a lot of hard work and innovation, Jessie and her team of contractors have succeeded in transforming the rickety old regional bus into a chic mobile apartment. Her house has a kitchen, a bedroom, a sitting area and even a reading corner. Jessie could now realize her dream of traveling and not having to leave her home.
But Jessie was not ready yet and no house would be complete without comfort and a personal touch. So Jessie gave it a final touch like you would do in any other house. She put candles down, hung photos and curtains in the newly built house and painted the bus before she started her new adventures.
Living the dream
Finding the right people to convert her bus was a difficult task, but Jessie never gave up her dream. After three years and about $ 70,000, Jessie finally had a house that suited her style and was completely hers. Like every creative person, she gets inspiration from different places and now she can achieve this, thanks to a hard working team, from her own comfortable home.
